Omnis Case Study Three:
Arbury Sub-Station, Cambridge
Construction of a major electrical sub-station built in a contemporary style to stringent planning requirements in keeping with the theme of the adjacent science park. Works including a complex steel framed / steel clad / masonry structure featuring a curved standing seam ‘Kalzip’ roof. The building itself houses four grid and distribution transformer each contained within substantial reinforced concrete structures together with split level control rooms and amenity facilities. Specialist mechanical and electrical installations are being incorporated including the installation of a fully automated a high pressure water fire suppression system. External works including paving quality concrete road and access yard.
